Description

One Tree Hill Lookout Bendigo is a popular spot for sightseeing and picnics, with numerous bushland tracks for walking, cycling, and running.

The trail is 6.0-km loop and takes an average of 1 h 32 min to complete. It is dog-friendly, but dogs must be kept on a leash.

The trail of One Tree Hill Lookout Bendigo does a loop through the east-west corner of Greater Bendigo National Park. It is well-maintained and offers nice views over the park and surrounding area. The trek takes you through bush filled with Box and Ironbark trees, and in spring, you can see the wattle flowering and wildflowers.

The best time to visit the trail is early in the morning to beat the heat. There are lots of wildflowers around September 23, 2022.

To get to One Tree Hill Lookout Bendigo, you can drive, walk, or cycle along Edwards Road in Flora Hill. Alternatively, you can park at the bottom of One Tree Hill Road in Spring Gully and walk or cycle up from there.

In addition to hiking, the lookout is a great place for bird watching, picnics, dog walking, and enjoying nature's beauty. There are picnic tables and shelter at the foot of the tower for a leisurely picnic.

There are no public toilets or bins provided, so visitors are asked to take their rubbish home for recycling or disposal. It's important to watch out for snakes in warmer weather. Horse riding, camping, firearms, fires, and firewood collection are prohibited, and drones are prohibited without a permit. Visitors are also reminded not to disturb the plants or animals as they are protected by law.
