Art Galleries in Maroondah

The gallery program at Maroondah features a diverse selection of contemporary and traditional visual arts, such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking. In 2019, the gallery held an exhibition titled "Beyond Boundaries: Sensory Relationships with the Environment," showcasing works by Maroondah artists.

Alongside the gallery, the Maroondah City Council Art Collection is a prominent art destination with over 180 items. This collection highlights the region's deep engagement with visual arts, particularly painting in various mediums. It includes paintings, prints, and ceramics by Australian artists, encompassing Indigenous artists and contemporary painters.

Established in 1994 through the amalgamation of the former Cities of Croydon and Ringwood, the Maroondah City Council Art Collection embodies the councils' ties to their communities. It features numerous landscape paintings, some depicting local landmarks and scenes. Notable local artists in the collection include James Alfred Turner and W Unsworth.
