Wineries in Majura

Mount Majura Vineyard is a rustic vineyard located in the Australian Capital Territory, just over Mount Majura from central Canberra. The vineyard was first planted in 1988 and is known for its Tempranillo, Shiraz, and Riesling varietals. The Cellar Door, open every day from 10 am to 5 pm, offers seated tastings that include a small produce platter for $20. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a Vineyard Tour, which is a self-guided "nature trail" experience through the vineyard, providing insights into the site and viticulture practices, along with panoramic views of the Majura Valley from the top of the hill. The vineyard does not have a restaurant and cannot accommodate groups larger than ten. The Cellar Door also offers a newsletter to keep visitors up to date with the vineyard's news and events.

Mount Majura Vineyard is celebrated for its popular Riesling, Shiraz, and experimental varietals such as Graciano and Mondeuse. It is a single vineyard winery covering 9.3 hectares and is one of the region’s leading producers of Tempranillo. The vineyard's location on top of the Majura Valley, near the New South Wales border, provides a unique and picturesque setting for wine enthusiasts. The vineyard's nature-based viticulture practices and the opportunity for a self-guided nature trail tour make it an unmissable experience for visitors.
