Art Galleries in Glen Eira

Glen Eira, located in Melbourne's southeast, is home to the Glen Eira City Council Gallery, the public art gallery for the City of Glen Eira. The gallery features a diverse range of exhibitions showcasing works from established and emerging Australian artists. Its program includes curated survey and thematic exhibitions, as well as works from local artists, schools, and community groups. The Council's Art Collection, initiated in 1975, comprises over 400 works by modern and contemporary Australian artists, spanning paintings, prints, sculptures, ceramics, and textiles.

Notable exhibitions at the gallery include "Talking Shops: Glen Eira Stories," which delves into the distinctive character and cultures of the municipality's centers through interviews and photographs, and "Lilach Mileikowski Sustenance," an exhibition presenting sculptural works that blend clay, glaze, fabric, and wire. The Glen Eira City Council Gallery is wheelchair accessible and provides accessible parking in the Council's car park. School group visits are welcome, but advance arrangements with the Gallery Coordinator are necessary.
