Attractions in Little Hartley

Little Hartley, a small village east of Hartley in the Blue Mountains, offers a range of attractions for visitors. One of the top attractions is the Hartley Historic Village, which consists of 17 buildings of historic significance dating from the 1837 Greek Revival courthouse to the timber and iron Corneys Garage built in 1945. This well-preserved remnant of one of the first rural settlements west of the Blue Mountains is a popular place for picnics and day tours, with guided tours available for visitors. The village is set among pastures, orchards, native vegetation, and the remnants of 19th and 20th-century cottage gardens, making it a picturesque and historically rich destination.

In addition to the historic village, visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the area, including the River Walk, which is Little Hartley's newest attraction. The River Walk includes a boardwalk that is 200 meters in length and follows along the bank of the River Lett at the Hartley Historic Site. The raised boardwalk overlooks the river and the remains of an early settler's hut, and the area is still home to platypus, adding to the natural charm of the location.
