Nestling against a backdrop of white gums, this building reproduces the natural environment in its facade, forms and finishes.

Taking advantage of the vistas looking over the precinct, the Armadale Landmark Building accommodates the City of Armadale's Administration Department and the Department of Child Protection.

GHD Woodhead delivered an efficient and iconic design for the commercial office, which forms a key part of the master plan for this new precinct.

The facade designs respond to the site's unique natural context, while establishing a successful civic presence within the Armadale CBD.

With the building requiring a sustainable design rating, the design team carefully considered solar heat gain and glare control on each facade, and responded with a range of treatments to optimise the building design. The result is a building appearance that evolves as sunlight strikes the various shading devices incorporate into the facade, creating light and shadow effects.

End-of-trip facilities are also provided at basement level, in line with achieving a certified 4 Star Green Star Office Design v3 rating.
