The Memory Palaces is the latest addition to an 8-year partnership between WAAPA and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, combining the artistry of puppetry with the creativity of young performers.

Directed by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre's Associate Director, Michael Barlow, and written by talented student Dee Waddingham, The Memory Palaces draws inspiration from ancient memory recall techniques that have influenced cultures worldwide. This innovative production invites you to imagine the process of storing vital memories within landscapes, bodies, and places, offering a unique perspective on the power of memory.

Words from the director:

"Our experience of memory is so varied and fascinating, both shared and individual, and comes at times with startling clarity, at others as elusive, fragmentary and sensory,." "Inside each of us lies a place filled with memories of longing, love, regret, and joy – our own 'memory palace'."

"Audiences can expect a performance that stirs their own memories and kindles reflection on this fundamental aspect of our lives. Prepare to be transported by a tale of love, life, and forgetting, spun from threads of memory that bind us together – that make us human."
