Attracted by the incredible nature, produce, colour and light, Margaret River is home to hundreds of talented local and international artists and artisans who maintain workshops and galleries in the region.

Many would say the visual art scene in Margaret River is more vibrant and successful than Perth and a tour of the local galleries and workshops is a wonderful way to spend a few days. There are several highly talented jewellers and the locally made jarrah furniture fetches prices in the many tens of thousands and is keenly sort after by international visitors.

The natural landscapes and amazing light has attracted some amazing photographers and even if you don’t buy, a visit to their galleries will give a you a great sense of the diversity and wonder of the region.

Annual art events in Margaret River

The Margaret River Region Open Studios is the biggest Open Studio event in Australia. It’s a free event with over 100 artists opening their doors, offering art lovers the rare chance to visit private art studios, meet artists and view their works in progress.
