Christmas songs are in the shops and prawns are flying off the shelves, which means summer is well and truly here. If you’re stuck for something to do on these warm sunny days, here’s a list of Perth’s top pop-up events to keep you and the family entertained throughout the holidays and beyond.

Under the Bridge Food Trucks

Fremantle – Mosman Park

The renowned Under the Bridge pop up event returns this summer, bringing delicious street food to Freo and Mosman Park every Monday and Thursday.  Food trucks will line Freo’s East Street Jetty every Monday from 5-8pm and Tom Perrot Reserve in Mosman Park every Thursday from 5-8pm. Both events offer tasty, local food that you can enjoy while the sun sets over some of the city’s most beautiful spots. Street drinking isn’t allowed at this family friendly event, but you can bring along a chair and relax with good food and good vibes. What’s not to love?

Ice Cream Factory

Ice Cream Factory at the heart of Northbridge is a micro-festival of fun. Every weekend until January 1 the corner at Roe Street and Lake Street plays host to 11 bars and 8 dance floors, including some custom-made rooftop bars and decks. The New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day events have sold out, but get in quick and you can still experience Melt Fridays and Banana Saturdays.

Embargo Container Bar

Elizabeth Quay

We can’t think of a better way to spend a warm summer afternoon than at this hip container bar on Elizabeth Quay. Embargo has all the ingredients needed to relax and soak up the sun – food trucks serving lunch and dinner, a licensed bar and a mix of live entertainment. Enjoy the atmosphere at ground level, or head up to the rooftop bars in the evening for a great view of the city lights.

The Lookout

This popular beachside club and bar has returned as a pop-up bar for a limited time. Located right on Scarborough’s buzzing Esplanade, it’s a beachwear-friendly, lively place to be this summer. Open every day except Monday, there’s a rotating list of DJs and live music, so there’s loads going on to take your beach day into the night.

Pleasure Garden @ FRINGE World Festival

The Pleasure Garden is one of FRINGE World’s most anticipated events and has a buzzing festival atmosphere that’s unrivalled in Perth. Street performers, escape rooms, and a circus are just some of the exciting events that will be heading to this festival pop up this summer. There’ll be fun for the whole family too, with special events for kids on the weekends.

Cretaceous Pop-Up Bar

Perth CBD

Head back in time with this one-night-only, after-dark event at the WA museum. On Friday 19 January, this pop-up bar is going to give you the chance to go drinking with dinosaurs. Tickets include exclusive access to WA Museum’s Dinosaur Discovery: Lost Creatures of the Cretaceous exhibition complete with licensed bar and DJs. This is an over-18 event, so leave the kids at home and enjoy a tipple with a T-Rex.

The Left Bank Xmas Eve

Don’t miss this annual pop-up festival in Freo. This year sees another exciting line up of local and international DJs, including SHOCKONE and Hook N Sling. Drinks fom Gage Road Brewing Co and Somersby Cider will be available on tap in the car park. Pre-sale tickets have already sold out, but there’ll be more available on the door at midday – get down early to make sure you get yours.

6006 In the Park

North Perth

This annual concert returns to Woodville Reserve this January with another cracking line-up. Triple J favourites Tired Lion will be headlining, with performances from the likes of Felicity Groom, Rick Steele Band and Spacey Jane to look forward to.
