For some of us, the day-time caffeine hit wears off and we need a little extra pick-me-up after work. In Perth, however, most cafés shut up shop around 3pm and it can be notoriously difficult to get your hands on a good cup of coffee. We’ve done some scouting and found the best late night cafes in Perth CBD doling out cups of that caffeinated good stuff long after the sun has gone down.
Voodoo Café
A grab and go specialty coffee joint located at the Wellington Street Entrance to Raine Square, Voodoo Café offers three locally-roasted blends and is open every day until 10pm – one of the latest open cafés in the CBD! A reliable option for an afterwork re-fuel, Voodoo Café’s house blends incorporate a range of flavours from milk chocolate and forest berries to darker tobacco notes. Whether you opt for a cold brew, a siphon or classic espresso, you will get the caffeine hit you were looking for. With limited indoor seating and a few alfresco tables, you can take a seat and watch the nightlife go by.
Opening hours: Mon-Fri, 6:00am- 10:00pm; Sat & Sun, 8:00am- 10:00pm.

Open late throughout the week, their coffee is roasted by Five Senses, a speciality coffee roaster operating out of Northbridge, and then brewed using their Synesso hydra machine. So, if you’re needing a caffeine boost after a late night at the office, head over to The Island before your commute or afterwork commitment – it’s conveniently located within 5 minutes of the Elizabeth Quay train and bus station.
Opening hours: Mon- Thurs, 11:30am- 8:00pm; Fri, 11:30am- late; Sat, 11:00am- late; Sun, 11:00am- 6:00pm.

The Moon
Open deep into the twilight hours, The Moon is Northbridge’s most iconic after-dark café. With American diner-style booths and stools at the bar, it’s the perfect spot for a quick cup of joe or to satisfy the midnight munchies. If you’re just after a quick coffee, The Moon offers Noble Beast, a local coffee project by bean aficionado Tim Fraser, who freshly roasts the beans weekly. If you’re heading out of the city towards Mount Lawley, you can pop in on your way home from work for that much needed caffeine hit.
Opening hours: Sun-Thurs, 12:00pm-11:00pm; Fri & Sat, 12:00pm-12:00am.
