Nestled in a quiet pocket on the banks of the Swan River, Lot 113 Wines is a boutique, family-owned and operated vineyard that was established in 2002. The vineyard is a labour of love for Rob and Lynne Hooker, who utilise the richness of the loam soil, a riverside location and the quality of surrounding vineyards to make minimum intervention wines.
Lot 113 makes Shiraz, Liqueur and Shiraz, and a Rose.
Two self-contained rooms overlooking the vineyard are available for guests to hire as accommodation, featuring a stunning Marri bedroom and large deck facilities to soak up the winery's lively atmosphere.

Settled by John Septimus Roe soon after the establishment of the Swan River Colony, Mandoon Estate has significant heritage. In the language of the local aboriginals, it means “place of many trees.”
The picturesque ground is complete with a kid’s play area and gallery located in the property’s original homestead, cellar door, microbrewery and varied eating facilities, making it a popular destination for locals and tourists looking to unwind.
In the words of Sir James Stirling: “The richness of the soil, the bright foliage of the shrubs, the majesty of the surrounding trees, the abrupt and red coloured banks of the River occasionally seen, and the view of the blue summits of the mountains from which we were not far distant, made the scenery around this spot as beautiful as anything or kind I had ever witnessed.”
Mandoon Estate is located just 30 minutes from Perth CBD and accessible by both road and river, or just a scenic helicopter flight away! Or for the ultimate weekend away, stay in one of 32 beautifully appointed rooms at the Colony.
A block of Verdelho was first planted in 1895 and still produces grapes today, make it one of the oldest commercially used vineyards in Western Australia.
The winery has only been producing wine since 2010, all of which can be enjoyed at the award-winning cellar door. The focus is on creating a boutique range of premium wines from well-preserved low-yielding vineyards in the Swan Valley and other regions. Varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Verdelho, Riesling, Chardonnay, Grenache, Cabernet, Cabernet Merlot and Shiraz.
Executive chef Michael Hartnell oversees the fine dining restaurant offering a modern Australian menu. For a more casual experience there’s an outdoor deli and bar offering pizza, roast meat on the spit and gourmet sausages, all located next to the children’s playground and gallery.
THE ‘HOMESTEAD’ MICROBREWERY
The ‘Homestead’ microbrewery remains the only brewery of its kind in Australia, using German manufactured Schulz brewing equipment to produce unique craft ales and cider.

After producing wool and lamb for over 30 years, Merv and Jan Smith developed this quaint vineyard in 1996. Their operation comprises of 40 acres of vineyards, two boutique chalets and a charming cellar door, conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Margaret River township.
The estate's Adinfern and Palinda ranges include Semillon, Classic White, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Frizzante, Shiraz Viognier and dessert wine made from lush Verdelho and Viognier grapes.
Adinfern's relaxed cellar door is situated amongst beautiful vineyards with garden views. The staff are attentive and full of knowledge to share during a tasting of the estate's range of sparking, table and dessert wines. Open seven days a week from 11am - 5:30pm, the cellar door also offers a range of local cheese, chocolate, crackers and skincare.
Adinfern's rustic rammed earth cottages provide a comfortable, fully-equipped stay in a garden setting nearby the estate's vineyards and cellar door, perfect for a wine lover's retreat.

Derek and Laura believe wine is one of life’s essentials. So essential, they came all the way from England to start their winery dream in Western Australia, establishing Upper Reach in 1997. They learnt to grow the grapes and make the wines as they went along and have turned their dream into an award-winning business with a popular cellar door and restaurant. They love sharing the fruits of their labour with visitors from near and far.
All the wines are estate-grown. Varieties include Swan Valley classics of verdelho, shiraz, grenache and muscat, along with chardonnay, semillon cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and more.
The friendly Upper Reach cellar door wine tasting experience has been consistently awarded in Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine’s Annual Australian Cellar Door Awards. Wine tastings are offered daily from 10am – 5pm. Group tastings (10+ people) can be booked from $10 per person. Perhaps, stay a little longer with a glass of wine and game of bocce on the lawn.
Situated in a quiet corner of the Swan Valley, The Riverbrook Restaurant at Upper Reach is a treasure within the region. The modern menu features small tasting plates to large feasting platters along with more formal a la carte options. Open from 9am daily.
The classic Winery Tour & Tasting ($40) takes guests behind the scenes, with the unique opportunity to ‘walk the catwalk’ for a birds-eye winery view and taste barrel samples like a winemaker. Treat yourself with a Tour and 2-Course Lunch, or early birds will love the Winery Tour & Breakfast.
A terrific Wine 101 Appreciation class is held once a month on weekends. It’s a formal tasting experience with an inclusive casual vibe and held in the back of a working winery. The interactive session breaks down the complex wine world, inviting guests to ‘be the winemaker’ and learn about flavours, the influence of oak and other wine characteristics through wine blending and lots of tasting.
