Teams
Our rides are based on the European style team events. Riders organise themselves into teams of four to nine riders. A team can be made up of any ‘like’ group such as your friends, regular riding group or work colleagues. You can ride any type of bike provided they are consistent across your team (ie, all road bikes, hand bicycles or mountain bikes). A Cyclo Sportif is conducted in race-like conditions with each team receiving a time however it is NOT race – it is about enjoying a challenge with your friends and participating as a team – not ‘winning’. Your team must work and remain together throughout the event.

Description

Operating at times and in areas of high youth crime, we offer the opportunity for young men and women to keep regularly active, develop leadership skills, gain formal qualifications and work with positive role models for a brighter future.

Our coaches, youth workers and volunteers employ an approach to facilitation that caters to the specific needs of the individual, allowing for tailored goal-setting and a greater chance of success.

Ignite Basketball works with its young men and women to build abilities in themselves that can benefit career, relationships and every day life. With a combination of individual mentoring and group coaching, participants combat low self-esteem, insecurities and low confidence while learning effective public speaking, basketball coaching, group control, anger management and conflict resolution.

Small and achievable goals are set and achieved on a regular basis, keeping individuals focused and progressing towards bigger and better things.
When ready, the participants can then move on to formal coaching, refereeing and administration qualifications that creates a solid foundation and employment anywhere in Australia.

Finally, we turn over the responsibility of running the Ignite Basketball session to our new coaches who work closely with younger participants and continue the mentoring cycle.

Ignite Basketball is dedicated to and inspired by the life of Jude Ryder Montgomery.

Description
For almost the past twenty years the Subiaco Petanque Club has been based at the Pavilion which is situated on the Nicholson Reserve. We are a sporting/recreational and social club open all year round to any age and anyone interested in learning the game of Petanque.
During this time the venue has become the central point for Petanque in WA. At present the building and pitches (pistes) are being used on a regular basis by our club which has 80 full members and 20 associates on a weekly basis. It is also home to Junior Petanque and Maison de France clubs which are both members of Petanque WA. Please note Petanque is not a seasonal sport but is played all year round and so the venue is in use for 52 weeks in the year. On special days in the calendar e.g. Foundation and Australian Day members often hold picnic meetings at the club. Ours is a sporting and recreational club open to members of all ages which because of its low impact nature is of particular interest to people who are in their senior years.

The objectives of the club are for "the organisation of events to cater for older sports and racing cars and to especially celebrate the original 'round the houses' racing which was held on street circuits in many country towns in the 30's, 40's and 50's". These objectives remain unchanged today.

These are two 'round the houses' style events, two circuit events, several Hill Climbs plus various social events.
