Decibel

Decibel is a new music ensemble based in Perth, Western Australia devoted to performing works that explore the nexus of acoustic and electronic instruments.

Description

Pioneering unique electronic score formats and giving electronic music instruments a voice in the acoustic space, Decibel also arrange electronic works for live performance. Decibel are committed to Australian music and emerging Western Australian composers, as well as sharing important international works with Australian audiences.

The Lawley Art Auction Committee is made up of a number of active parent groups at Mount Lawley Senior High School.

Description

The Lawley Art Auction Committee is made up of a number of active parent groups at Mount Lawley Senior High School.

This year the Auction Committee will host the 10th Lawley Art Auction, raising money for Moutn Lawley Senior High School's Art and Music departments.

As the premiere fundraising event for the Mount Lawley Senior High School’s Art and Music departments, these funds are utilised for development and enrichment programs.

In previous years, the Music Department has utilised the funds towards technology and resources to support ensemble development and classroom programs. Purchases Include important equipment such as timpani, bass guitar, amplifiers, microphones and IT.

The SVAPA department has made use of their funds in a variety of ways; contracting artists to conduct workshops, providing enrichment programs, the opportunity for students to attend Perth International Arts Festival performances, the Awesome Festival and organise and participate in the Arts Day Festival, celebrated by the whole school.
