Description

Hot on the heels of Here Comes The Sun and Sugarloaf Rock festivals, the Margaret River region continues its run as the live music hot spot of spring with the announcement of Good Day Sunshine Festival.

Taking over the beautiful grounds of Barnard Park on the Busselton Foreshore on Saturday, October 31st, 2020, Good Day Sunshine features the absolutely stellar lineup of John Butler, Xavier Rudd, Eskimo Joe, Noah Dillon, Dulcie and Moon & Honey... plus a glorious array of local artisan food, drink, stalls and artists.

In a world-first, Good Day Sunshine will bring you the first Covid-safe festival format; The Turntable

Usually reserved for MASSIVE international stadium artists, our new “in-the-round" format will see the event site split into 4 equal areas, each named after a famous surf spot in the south-west… Cobblestones, The Point, Windmills and Injidup, with a revolving stage in the centre, aptly named The Turntable.

Each area will operate as an individual venue, hosting its own entry, exit & amenities resulting in shorter wait times for bars, food & loos, limiting audience interaction while maximising the music festival experience.

Get ready to be a part of history! Western Australia is leading the world in a covid-safe easing of restrictions, and while the rest of the world (and even parts of Australia) are still in lock-down and only enjoying “live" music experiences through their computer screens or car windscreens, we're pleased to present a music festival designed to take place within Phase 4 restrictions.

Description

With his warming, coastal acoustic sounds and gently pulsing minimalistic beats that push and pull with the tides of the ocean, James Abberley from the Western-shores of Australia is releasing an introspective single, 'You're The One' (Out October 30).

Over the past number of years, Abberley has hit impressive milestones throughout his career which include supporting the likes of Xavier RuddThe WaifsPaul DempsyAsh Grunwald and Kim Churchill. Abberley's also performed at a number of WA festivals including Nannup Festival and Into The Sun Festival to name a few.

In January this year, Abberley made his way to New Zealand for the first time where four of the six shows sold out. This trend has continued with the return of live music in WA with Abberley selling out his last 5 shows.

Now in quick succession to follow up his most recent single 'Drifting' (released in August) is 'You're The One'. With a "from the heart" passion and seriousness, this weighty number is indicative of the heart-pounding emotions tied to a yearning for the one as the title suggests. Abberley states:

"'You're The One' is about that moment when you are trying to fall asleep, but no matter what you do, you just can't get that person that you love or want out of your head. It's amazing to me that you can feel like a slave to your own thoughts."

Generating this feeling is Abberley's easy listening blend of acoustic-folk, minimalistic beats and his tender vocal tone that is laced with a soft Australiana accent.

Abberley's music imbues a sense of tranquillity and meditative space for introspection.

This is our first production of a sparkling wine using our Pignoletto grapes which are grown in the Harvey Hills at our Wildwater Vineyard.

The label has been created specially for us from a commissioned painting by local artist Yvonne Chapman and friend of Vineyard 28. It showcases the Wildwater vineyard, its landmark towering gum tree and the guinea fowl who live amongst the vines.

Pignoletto originates from the Emilio Romagna area in Italy. It takes its name from Pigna’, the Italian for pine cone, on account of its small, tight grape clusters.

Think crisp green apples and crunchy green pear slices – this is our Pignoletto.

Winemaker Mark, will chat to you about the wine, tell you the story of the label and encourage you to sample it alongside some canapes.

You will also be able to sample the 2020 releases of our Sauvignon Blanc, Arneis, Dolcetto and Dolcetto Freddo.

A grazing table laden with canapes, cheeses, olives, and our awesome locally made artisan crackers will be on hand to enjoy with your wine.
