Also worth following is the Kalumburu Road which takes you up to the very northern tip of WA and links the Kalumburu Aboriginal community with the outside world. It is also you access to the Mitchell Plateau area. Be cautious, the roads' conditions vary and its the outback because its isolated. Before heading down the roads, make sure you check weather (dry season from May to November is the safest time to go) and road conditions at the Kimberley Tourist Bureau - even better, buy a Gibb River Road Guide.
