Description

Knox Gorge in Karijini National Park is a deep chasm that intersects Wittenoom Gorge.

The 2.4 km Knox Gorge walk trail is an easy route, making it ideal for hiking and walking. The trail takes you past fig trees clinging to the rock walls.

The Knox Gorge offers a short but exhilarating walk through the expansive canyon. The descent into the gorge is steep and rocky but well-maintained. At the end of the trail, visitors can find a slot canyon and shallow pools for swimming. The climb back up is long and steep, so it's important to save energy for the return.

For the best experience, we recommend visiting Knox Gorge late in the afternoon or early in the morning when the sun rays enhance the panoramic view. To get to Knox Gorge, visitors can drive to Karijini National Park in Western Australia. The trailhead is accessible from the Knox Lookout.

The Knox Gorge trail is a great spot for bushwalking and swimming. Visitors should bring their own equipment as there are no rental facilities available onsite.

The surrounding area of Knox Gorge is known for its lush vegetation, including trees growing on the rock walls. Visitors can find a list of species recorded within a 5km radius of Knox Lookout on the Atlas of Living Australia.

We recognize and acknowledge the Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of Karijini National Park.
