Description
Join award-winning cabaret artists Penny Shaw and Robert Hofmann as they explore the repertoire of songs inspired by love in its less than romantic forms.
WA Opera veterans Penny Shaw and Robert Hofmann are back on the Fringe World Festival stage to present a night of nights. Singing their way to uncover the way people precariously pair up; ‘MISMATCHED!’ is a glorious vocal celebration of unromantic leads, unlikely couples with this cheeky duo. Love in its less than romantic forms, such as platonic, unrequited and just plain unsuitable! A prima donna and her manager, a girl and her dog, a fan and his idol and even a singer and their career, these unlikely couplings and the brilliant songs they have inspired will move you to laughter and tears. Effortlessly crossing genres singing everything from West Side Story to Sinatra and accompanied on piano by the indomitable Tommaso Pollio, this is a season not to be missed! IMAGINE THIS! A sprinkle of The Crown and Downton Abbey meets “What the Fandango” X DivaLicious This performance will blast audiences away, with numbers from West Side Story, The Phantom of the Opera, Berstein’s Candide and even something from the 2019 hit Broadway musical ‘The Prom’ plus many more surprises along the way.
