Karrinyup Public Library

Local Facilities Libraries

Description

Offers the community a comprehensive collection of resources to access a world of information and entertainment, as well as nourish education and creativity.

Conveniently located next to the Karrinyup Shopping Centre, the Karrinyup Library is designed to enrich our community by encouraging learning and enhancing creativity. It is also one of six libraries provided by the City of Stirling.

Materials from all the City's libraries are available at library users fingertips through the computerised AMBLIB system. This results in faster service and turnaround of library materials for re-use. A reader assistance service is available to all library users to answer enquiries and to offer aid in the interpretation of the catalogues and collection.  An enquiry terminal for public use is also available, as well as public internet computers. Photocopying facilities are provided for a small fee and readers can request books from home (with a password) on their computers.

All libraries subscribe to a selection of popular magazines that are available for loan, along with standard reference works. A selection of reading matter in other languages, spoken word, music, CD's, CD ROMs and video recordings are available too. Karrinyup Library also offers a variety of activities like storytelling, a bookclub for primary school children, local studies presentations and other seminars for adults. All disabilities are supported within the library and wheelchair access is available.
