Gidgestock Music Festival returns for its 5th year this October, bringing some of the best local music Perth has to offer to the beautiful hills of Gidgegannup.
We are delighted to announce the 5th Annual Gidgestock Music Festival featuring outstanding local musicians playing from 11.30am to midnight on Saturday 12 October and from 8am to 2pm on Sunday 13 October.
Experience a natural amphitheatre bush setting, live bands, campfires, rustic camping and dancing under the stars, then wake up to the call of the kookaburras on Sunday morning for more fabulous music and a hearty cook-up breakfast.
Gidgestock is a fun event for the whole family with plenty of activites for the kids – bouncy castle, sand pit, face painting, bubble wands, totem tennis, play dough etc.
BACKGROUND
The Gidgestock Story
The Gidgestock Music Festival came to life in 2015 as a result of a group of music enthusiasts wanting to run an event that would benefit the community. Steve and Jo Mitcham just happened to have the perfect venue, a spectacular 50 acre property in Gidgegannup, just 45 minutes from Perth. There was a low-key launch of the Gidgestock in October 2015 and the results were very pleasing. Attendance was ‘Invitation only’ and an enthusiastic audience gave rave reviews. The event has grown since then, with substantial upgrades to the amphitheatre and the addition of an extensive compacted gravel dancing area. All profits from the event go to support excellent causes - last year the Gidgestock Music Festival donated $20,000 in total of to its beneficiaries - the Leukaemia Foundation and the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Now in it’s 5th year, with a total of eighteen acts donating their services, Gidgestock 2019 is ready for another excellent turnout.
The Gidgestock Experience
The Gidgestock Experience is based on the Woodstock theme of peace, love and great music. Just as Woodstock was the launch pad for many top names in the music industry, Gidgestock is aimed at promoting talented emerging WA bands and solo performers of mixed genres. All musicians donate their services for free and, together with our generous sponsors, enable this festival to donate all profits to worthy local causes - this year again it will be the Leukaemia Foundation and the West Gidgegannup Volunteer Fire Brigade.
