Description

FORM presents OUR PAINTING ABOUT NGURRA by the Spinifex Hill Artists, at The Goods Shed in Claremont.

Featuring over 60 stunning new works by some of the Pilbara’s most exciting emerging, mid-career and senior artists, OUR PAINTING ABOUT NGURRA marks the Spinifex Hill Artists’ first-ever exhibition at The Goods Shed. The Spinifex Hill Artists work from South Hedland’s Spinifex Hill Studio, which is managed by FORM. More than 100 artists, from regions spanning the Kimberley to the south of Western Australia, access the Studio annually. Their work features in major national events, exhibitions across Australia and overseas, and is held in significant art collections. Meaning both ‘Country’ and ‘home’ in Western Desert languages, Ngurra is a popular subject matter the Spinifex Hill Artists often refer and return to in their work. See OUR PAINTING ABOUT NGURRA on display until 12 December, 2021.
