Come with us on an adventure of discovery as we explore the depths of the great Indian Ocean and its amazing marine life at Museum of the Great Southern these school holidays.

From ecosystems to ocean currents uncover the fascinating underwater world that is the Indian Ocean.

Lustre: Pearling & Australia

Discover the intriguing stories behind northern Australia's unique pearling tradition. Immerse yourself in the qualities of the shell itself, its evolution and habitat, and the people who have collected and harvested these treasures from Saltwater Country in our newest exhibition, Lustre: Pearling & Australia.

Discovery Centre—Indian Ocean Adventure

The Discovery Centre is full of fun and immersive activities for the whole family.

Explore the Indian Ocean from below the waves, interact with science experiments that explain buoyancy in sharks, or try your hand at modelling sea creatures for our diorama.

Unleash your creativity as you use transparent prints of ocean fish and colourful sharpies to add your individual flare to create a beautiful underwater scene.

Discovery Beach Walk
