Description

An exhibition celebrating the exceptional creative minds and hands from remote community artisans.

For too long in the visual art world craft has been overshadowed. Thankfully, in 2021 a bright light has been cast bringing skill and artistry to the fore in all manner of ways. Bringing inanimate objects to life through the many forms of craft making within an exhibition are all special skills, many of which are highlighted in IOTA21, the Indian Ocean Craft Triennial currently on show around metropolitan Perth and some regional centres.

Opening on 29th October in South Fremantle an IOTA21 Festival event MADE | FOUND | REPURPOSED is an exhibition of found objects reshaped, painted and repurposed by Australian Indigenous artists primarily from five remote community art centres and presented by Artitja Fine Art Gallery.
