Every day of the week you can find quality live music, from smooth jazz to hard rock, at cosy establishments like the Ellington Jazz Club, Mojo’s and the Rosemount Hotel. Music legends, San Cisco and Tame Impala, are but a few that started their careers gigging in Perth. Weekends are buzzing with live music in Northbridge and Fremantle, whilst further south, in Margaret River, the local pub scene is thriving with local talent.

Local gigs are the best way to discover new talent and to support musicians and artists.

All year around music lovers flock to these events. An awesome way to start or end your night out bands often offer early or late shows in the Perth area and surrounds. Make sure to book online or arrive early as venues often have limited capacity.

The Aardvark, Badlands Bar and The Bird are particularly popular for their laidback vibes featuring beer gardens and much needed chill out zones. Located in Northbridge and Fremantle these venue staples are easily accessible by train and regularly host local legends such as Spacey Jane and Carla Geneve.

Carla Geneve

One of the best parts of going out to local gigs is the Pub Grub, so be sure to scope out your local bar for live events. The Indian Ocean Hotel, known lovingly as The Indi, hosts an impressive mix of established and upcoming artists. It’s a great way to enjoy a Parmi on a weekday night. Some other great options for quality gigs with good vibes are The Rosemount and Mojo’s Bar.
