For decades, the humble metropolis of Perth was screaming for a link between the CBD and Northbridge. Since opening last year, Yagan Square has become a hub for meeting and eating. Crammed with hip eateries, we’ve taken a tastebud tour of Market Hall and rounded up some foodie staples and recent openings. Whether you feel like ice cream, bánh mì or some delicious contemporary bush tucker, you’ll find it all under one roof.

Le Vietnam

Lovers of Vietnamese food can rejoice as the much-loved Barrack Street cafe has now opened a second joint at Yagan Square – and this time it’s fully licenced! A fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisine, Le Vietnam specialises in bánh mì, a generous-sized baguette filled with a selection of meat and vegetables. Add to that their specialty Vietnamese Iced Coffee and exceptionally friendly service and you can’t go wrong.

Ahi Poke

If you’re after delicious food that’s also healthy, look no further than Ahi Poke. The Hawaiian-inspired bowls are made using locally sourced, fresh ingredients and are customisable to suit your taste preferences. Choose from a variety of rice, protein, toppings and sauces to create a new healthy lunch favourite!

Shy John Brewery & Yum Cha

With a variety of mouth-watering menu items like their tea-smoked chicken, squid ink dumplings and purple rice coconut pudding, this is one for the foodies. Combining traditional Cantonese dishes with award-winning brews, the Shy team have four menus to choose from. They even stay open until 11pm, if a little late night rendezvous in on the agenda.

Ficus

Showcasing farm-to-plate dining at its finest, Ficus is unlike any other. Enjoy stunning views of the city while tucking into the best of contemporary Aussie food made with a French flair. The food at Ficus is prepared using local seasonal ingredients, delivered daily. Don’t go past their Chateaubriand, which is melt-in-your-mouth good.
