In an age where much is mass produced, bespoke jewellery pieces are coveted and very special. Such is the case with the Aurora Couture Collar- the centrepiece of the Aurora Collection – Kailis Australian Pearls’ first major jewellery collection in two years. The centre piece of the collection, the Aurora Couture Collar, is considered ‘high jewellery’ – a hand crafted masterpiece that is only made to order and costs $248,000.
Inspired by sunset, one of mother nature’s spectacular light shows, The Aurora Collection evokes that magical time of day.
The Collection pays special homage to Broome where the Kailis story began almost five decades ago – home to the exquisite Australian South Sea Pearl and location of the most famous Australian sunsets of all.
Kailis General Manager Mark Majzner said creating a collection that embodies the euphoria of witnessing the perfect sunset takes time, skill and patience.
“For two years, Kailis has worked tirelessly with some of the world’s finest jewellery makers and stone suppliers to craft the nine-piece Aurora collection.
“Its lustrous untreated Australian South Sea pearls, recognised the world over for their beauty and scarcity, are set within a delicate framework of 18ct yellow gold and feature hundreds of hand cut and polished Cabochon Rubies, Orange Sapphires, Pink Tourmalines and brilliant White Diamonds. The result is redolent of a luminous moon rising in a sky streaked with saturated colour,” said Mr Majzner.
