Description

Omori Estate is located in the south-west corner of Lake Taupo, New Zealand.

The estate is known for producing boutique-style, award-winning wines made from Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir grapes. The estate also offers unique extra virgin olive oil that comes from sustainably farmed vines and trees situated on the edge of the world's largest volcanic caldera. Omori Estate offers visitors more than just a vineyard, it is a place where visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities.

What to See and Do The vineyard offers visitors wine tasting and sales, family picnic concerts, gourmet food markets, and many special interest groups. You can taste amazing wines and olives in a scenic place that is particularly known for activities like fishing, sailing, snow-skiing, and various other activities.

When to Go Omori Estate is open for visitors from 26 December to the second week of January. Visitors can start their New Year's celebrations at Omori Estate's annual afternoon concert in the vineyard. The pinot rosé is very popular in summer months, and the off-dry pinot gris is also worth a try.

Olive Grove and More Recently, Omori Estate has sold their vineyard, and now they are focused on their Olive Grove. The estate provides estate-grown olives and olive oil with bread and cheeses, or visitors can bring their own picnic.

Visitors can enjoy a platter of estate-grown olives and olive oil with bread and cheeses while overlooking Lake Taupo. The olives are pressed in Hawke's Bay, or Wairarapa, and the wines are made by talented contract winemaker Amelia Riwai. The venue has become very popular among wine lovers and tourists, and it is an excellent place to come to experience a glass of exceptional New Zealand wine or a taste of their unique extra virgin olive oil.
