History and Ownership

DB Breweries was founded in 1930 following the acquisition of Levers and Co. and the Waitemata Brewery Co. in Otahuhu by Sir Henry Kelliher and W Joseph Coutts. The company has grown over the years to become a leading player in the brewing industry in New Zealand. In 2004, DB Breweries was acquired by Asia Pacific Breweries, which later was bought by Heineken Asia Pacific.

DB Breweries owns and manages four breweries across New Zealand, including the Waitemata Brewery in Otahuhu, Auckland. The Otahuhu brewery opened in 1930 and has since undergone several renovations and expansions to become a modern brewery with state-of-the-art facilities.
