The park's Visitor Center has a general store and a cafe that are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, and it is staffed by rangers who can provide information about the park's attractions.

Another popular activity in Wilsons Promontory National Park is to explore its many walking trails. One of the most popular walks is to Vereker Outlook and Millers Landing, which offers postcard views of Darby Saddle, Corner Inlet, Shellback Island, and Cotters Beach. Another great walk is Fairy Cove, which is a moderately difficult walk. Visitors should check tide times before leaving for safety reasons.

The best time to visit Cotters Beach and Wilsons Promontory National Park is during summer (December-February) when temperatures are warmest for swimming or hiking. To get to Cotters Beach from Melbourne by car takes approximately three hours via South Gippsland Highway.
