Description

The Whim Creek Hotel is a 3-star hotel located in Whim Creek, Western Australia.

It is situated midway between Roebourne and Port Hedland, and is a stopover point for travelers to Broome. The hotel is located in the heart of the Pilbara Coast, making it an ideal base to explore the national parks and historic towns in the region. The Whim Creek Hotel is a famous landmark in the area, having been a rest stop, hotel, and drinking establishment for most of the 20th century. The original hotel was a tin-roofed structure that was blown down in a cyclone in the 1890s. It has since been rebuilt twice, in the mid-20th century and in the 1990s.

The hotel has 52 rooms available for guests to stay in. The hotel offers free parking and a 24-hour front desk. Pets are welcome at the hotel. The hotel has served as an accommodation village for mine workers who work at the Whim Creek Copper Mine, with around 150 to 180 men and women living in demountable units and sharing messing facilities at the hotel. Several other mining and exploration camps located nearby also use the hotel and messing facilities.

The solitary attraction in Whim Creek is the hotel, which was built in 1886 to cater to local miners. Today, it is a popular retreat for travelers.
