Description

Located in the heart of Caversham, a charming Perth suburb, Lilac Hill Park is a scenic cricket ground surrounded by the Swan River from the south and the east. Established in 1990, the West Australian Cricket Association (WACA) used the ground to host festival matches for the visiting international cricket team and a Chairman's XI.

The ground is well-known for its two ends, namely the River End and the Pavilion End.

The 1990 Lilac Hill Festival match hosted by the WACA set a record-breaking attendance of 12,000, and the following years also attracted good crowds. In 2006, the match format was changed from Chairman’s XI to Invitational XI v Chairman's XI. Nevertheless, in 2010, it was announced that the season opening match would no longer be held due to increased constraints in international cricket scheduling.

Lilac Hill is also the secondary ground for the Perth Scorchers women’s cricket team, where they have played two Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) matches on consecutive days, Saturday and Sunday, during the season. The Lilac Hill Weekend, as it is now known, has become a popular event where entry is free, and rides and activities for kids are also free. Fans are even encouraged to bring their dogs along to set a new record in dog attendance. The Lilac Hill Festival Weekend received the highest fan experience score across the League in 2020.

The park is also the home ground for local 1st grade cricket teams like Midland-Guildford Cricket Club and Swan Athletic/Caversham Cricket Club. Additionally
