Attractions

Description

Waitpinga Beach is a remote and scenic destination in Australia that attracts fishing, camping, and hiking enthusiasts.

Swimming is not recommended due to strong surf, but the beach offers great opportunities for photography. It is part of the Newland Head Conservation Park, which has a camping ground at the entrance. The park is free to enter by vehicle, but camping fees apply. A popular activity is taking a half-day walk on the Wild South Coast Way, which offers beautiful views of the Southern Ocean and Waitpinga Cliffs. Another option is exploring the beach from the smaller car park to the west, which provides a quieter and more secluded experience. The best time to visit is during the summer months, but it can still be windy and cold, so warm clothing is recommended. To get to Waitpinga Beach, it is approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Adelaide on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
