Description

Harmony Park is a 7.5-acre urban park located in Surry Hills, Sydney.

It was part of the Brisbane Street slum clearance of 1924 and has a fascinating history. After years of neglect and use as a car park, the site was transformed into a park in 2006. The park is officially named Harmony Park to celebrate the cultural and social diversity of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst.

Visitors to Harmony Park can enjoy several amenities. The park is an off-leash area, allowing dogs to roam freely. Surrounded by trees, it offers a peaceful environment for picnics, games, or simply relaxing on the grass. There are also walking paths and tracks for exploring the area on foot. Additionally, the park features fitness equipment that is accessible to the public.

Harmony Park is open every day from sunrise to sunset, allowing visitors to enjoy it year-round. Different activities and amenities are available depending on the season. Before visiting, it's advisable to check the current weather conditions to ensure a pleasant experience.

Getting to Harmony Park is convenient as it is centrally located. It can be easily accessed by public transport, bike, or car. The nearest train stations, Central and Museum, are a short walk away. For those driving, there is street parking available.

In addition to its history and amenities, Harmony Park has a unique feature. The park is watered by stormwater collected from the roof of the adjoining electricity substation, stored in a 240,000 litre tank. Visitors can enjoy the park's off-leash area, picnic spots, walking paths, and fitness equipment. Whether using public transport or private vehicles
