Description

Rocks Riverside Park is a sprawling park located in Seventeen Mile Rocks, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

It is the largest riverfront park in Brisbane, covering an area of 26 hectares and boasting 800 meters of river frontage.

The park holds historical significance, having been used for various purposes such as farming and industrial operations. In the late 1940s, the Queensland Cement and Lime Company set up operations in the area, utilizing dead coral from Moreton Bay as a substitute for lime. The park features industrial artifacts from its past, as well as a crop patch and public art reflecting its history.

Rocks Riverside Park is divided into three major zones: the river flat, the bushland range, and a green link to the suburbs. The river flat area offers adventure playgrounds, a climbing web, an amphitheater, a water play area, and electric barbeques. The bushland range provides a natural haven for fauna and flora, attracting birds and animals. The green link provides access to the suburbs to the south.

The park was redeveloped in 1999 by the Brisbane City Council to showcase innovative design and sustainability. The signage by Dot Dash follows the Brisbane City Council logo standards, providing information about the park's features. The park has received several awards, including the Playground and Recreational Association of Victoria's Innovation Award and the Water Saving Award from the Department of Infrastructure and Transport.

For a peaceful and refreshing outdoor experience in Brisbane, Rocks Riverside Park is the perfect destination.
