St Johns Wine Blackwood Valley

St Johns Wine is our newly established brand which has two vineyards in Western Australia, one in the beautiful Blackwood Valley Wine region and the other in the well-known Margaret River region.

Our ‘Tweed River’ vineyard was established in 1997, it is just over 60 hectares, making us the largest winegrower in the region. The region’s climate is ideally suited to bold reds and aromatic whites grown in deep duplex gravelly soils. Our main grape varieties are Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay, grown on various sloped sites within our vineyard to ensure the best growing conditions for each variety. We also have small blocks of unique varieties such as Malbec, Tempranillo, Vermentino and Grenache, from which we produce our small batch Round Puzzle wines. Our vineyard and winemaking people have observed that our Blackwood Valley vineyard has a tendency for smaller berry size, more fruit intensity, deeper colours and concentrated flavours, from which we make extraordinary wines.
