The downwind section is dedicated to windsurfing, with international sponsored riders often seen during the summer season. Beginners are advised to use the sandbar located south of The Pond due to heavy traffic and the advanced crowd. The location is popular for freestyle windsurfing competitions, with many riders launching from there. The best time to visit is during summer when the windsurfing season is in full swing. The Pond can be accessed by car, with a designated parking area available newline.
