Rose Bay Sea Wall & Promenade

Rose Bay Sea Wall & Promenade is a heritage-listed former Aboriginal land, farms, and road reserve, now a sea wall, road reserve, and esplanade located at New South Head Road, Rose Bay, in the Municipality of Woollahra local government area of New South Wales, Australia.

The promenade was designed as an integrated scheme that allowed both pedestrians and motorists a unique opportunity to view the waters of Rose Bay. The sea wall was designed by Herbert E. Ross and built from 1924 to 1926 by Woollahra Municipal Council. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 22 August 2014.

The path is a flat, level walk and mostly follows the old sea wall which was built in the 1920s. It takes about 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. The promenade offers a beautiful view of the waters of Rose Bay, and it is a great place to take a stroll, jog, or bike ride. The area is well-maintained, and there are benches along the way where visitors can sit and enjoy the view. The promenade is also wheelchair accessible.

There are no facilities or amenities along the promenade itself, but there are several restaurants and cafes nearby, such as Tide Cafe and Regatta Rose Bay Restaurant. These establishments offer harbourside dining with a beautiful view of the bay. Visitors can enjoy waterside fine dining while watching seaplanes take off over the water.
