Description

Yalgorup National Park is a pristine protected area located in Western Australia, situated 105 km south of Perth and directly south of Mandurah.

It is comprised of a stunning chain of around ten lakes, with its name stemming from the two Noongar words Yalgor which means lake and -up meaning place of.

Part of the Peel-Yalgorup Wetland system, Yalgorup National Park is a classified Ramsar Wetland Site of international importance. Its wetlands have been identified by BirdLife International as the Yalgorup Important Bird Area due to their significance for waterbirds. The park's wetlands contain a variety of birdlife, including black swans, grebes, kingfishers, various duck species, coots, and a variety of parrots and dotterels.

The park features a mix of landscapes, including tuart forests, woodlands, and tuart and swamp paperbark woodlands.
