Description
As part of their Quick Response residency at PICA, The And Theatre will develop their performance Dead End.
The dreamlike and surreal atmosphere of this work portrays the subconscious of individuals undergoing a crisis. Every day, people are confronted with choices that can impact the value of their lives and the paths they take. This work examines the corrosive impact of global and national events on the soul of an individual and a journey of escape from struggle.
About the Artist
The And Theatre team comprises culturally diverse performers from Australia and Ukraine who began their journey at the Beautiful Flowers Theatre in 2011 and the Nafta Theatre in 2018 in Ukraine. They have participated in international theatre festivals, such as JULA in Munich, Germany and FIA in Costa Rica. Each of their projects is a synergy of classical and experimental theatrical forms and techniques, with a preference for non-verbal theatre.
