Description

Protesters Falls Walking Track Nightcap is a short but breathtaking walk that leads through magnificent rainforest to a spectacular waterfall.

It is an ideal destination for families and nature lovers, located in the rugged ranges of Nightcap National Park near Lismore. Named after the Terania Creek protests of the late 1970s, this track is an important habitat for endangered frogs and offers a diverse range of flora and fauna.

The waterfall along the track is nothing short of spectacular, surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature. It provides a peaceful and tranquil escape from the city, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as the rose-crowned fruit dove and the barred cuckoo-shrike. The best time to visit is during the cooler months when rainfall is high, from June to August, as the waterfall will be at its most impressive and the surroundings lush and green.

Protesters Falls Walking Track Nightcap is located in Nightcap National Park, around an hour's drive from Byron Bay and thirty minutes from Lismore. The track can be accessed via Terania Creek Road, which has a dirt and gravel surface and can be narrow and winding. Parking is available at the Terania Creek picnic area, which serves as a starting point for walks to Protesters Falls.

When visiting, it is important to bring proper walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, and drinking water. It is also essential to carry your rubbish with you and leave no trace behind. Additionally, there are other stunning locations to explore in Nightcap National Park, such as Mount Nardi picnic area, Minyon Falls lookout, and the Big Scrub loop walking track
