Description

If you're looking for a serene retreat away from the city, the Melton Botanic Garden is the ideal destination.

Spanning 4 hectares, this garden is a haven for plant enthusiasts, showcasing unique foliage and flowers that thrive in low watering and dry conditions.

One of the standout features of the garden is the well-maintained Dryland Eucalyptus Arboretum, which boasts over a hundred species of Eucalyptus and native understorey plants. Additionally, the garden includes Indigenous plantings, a creek and lake rehabilitation area, and a Koori Student Garden.

Visitors can explore various themed gardens, such as the Victorian Volcanic Plains Garden, Indigenous Peoples Garden, Bushfoods Garden, Sensory Garden, and more. A leisurely stroll around the main lake offers the opportunity to appreciate the diverse flora and fauna.

The garden provides amenities to enhance visitors' experience, including an amphitheatre for events, picnic tables, public toilets, BBQs, and ample seating. Dog owners are welcome to bring their pets, as long as they are kept on a leash and waste bags are used.

The garden is open year-round, with daytime visits recommended to fully enjoy the beauty it offers. Located off Coburns Road in Melton, the garden is easily accessible by car or public transport, with onsite parking available.

For an added bonus, don't miss the plant sales at the nursery run by the Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 1pm.

Escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of nature at the Melton Botanic Garden.
