Description

Marmion Marine Park is a marine protected area located along the coast of northern Perth, Western Australia.

It covers a vast area of 10,500 hectares and was declared in 1987. One of its distinctive features is the presence of parallel running limestone reefs along the coastline, which contain underwater limestone platforms and caves. These limestone systems provide a fantastic underwater environment for divers and snorkelers to explore.

The park is a natural habitat for endangered marine animals, including bottlenose dolphins and Australian sea lions. Visitors can often see these animals roaming freely in their natural habitat, with the sea lion colony often basking in the sun on the northern reefs. This provides a great opportunity for tourists to take photographs and observe these species up close.

One of the park's most breathtaking features is the opportunity to see Humpback whales during their yearly migration. During the breeding season between September and November, visitors are guaranteed a closer look at these gentle giants as they swim with their young.

In conclusion, Marmion Marine Park offers a unique and unforgettable experience for individuals interested in aquatic life and stunning underwater environments. Visitors can explore the diverse ecosystem of the park, observe endangered species in their natural habitat, and have the opportunity to witness seasonal whale watching.
