At the heart of the reserve is the iconic Ingleburn Weir, a historic landmark dating back to 1938. Made of beautiful sandstone masonry, the weir was originally built as a safe swimming area for locals. It is now a rare testimony to the region's cultural heritage and has been recently restored to enhance fish passage and preserve its heritage value.

Ingleburn Reserve is not only a historical site but also an ecological gem. It boasts an endangered ecological community called Shale Sandstone Transition Forest, home to rare and threatened plant species, as well as native animals. Visitors can explore this biodiversity by following the walking trail through the forest and along the river.

Ingleburn Reserve can be visited year-round, but spring and summer are particularly pleasant seasons. The walking trail allows visitors to experience the natural environment in bloom during spring. Sturdy footwear is recommended as the trail covers 400 meters of loose, rocky, unsealed surface.

Getting to Ingleburn Reserve is easy, as it is only 45 minutes from Sydney CBD. Visitors can drive and find plenty of free parking on site, or take the train to Ingleburn Station and enjoy a short 20-minute walk to the reserve.
