Description

If you're looking for a picturesque waterhole to enjoy some swimming amidst the lovely natural surrounds near Halls Creek in the Kimberley region, then Sawpit Gorge is worth a visit.

The gorge is located just off the scenic Duncan Road, which is one of the most popular roads in the Kimberley region. Sawpit Gorge, also known as Sawtooth Gorge, is a half hour drive south of Halls Creek, and four and a half hours drive south of Kununurra. It is recommended that you have a four wheel drive when visiting the gorge, as the drive is mainly off-road. Kununurra, which is located to the north, is well serviced with direct flights to and from Perth, taking just three hours each way.

Sawpit Gorge is a great place to swim, relax and enjoy the peaceful waters, surrounded by the tall native trees and striking rocky outcrops. The gorge has been formed by the Black Elvire River, which has carved through the land and created several deep pools, making it a perfect spot for swimming. The water is usually deep, calm and clear, and there are plenty of rocks and trees that provide perfect jumping-off points. The best time to visit Sawpit Gorge Halls Creek is during the dry season from April to September, when the skies are blue, and the weather is warm, and it doesn't rain much. During the wet season, from October through to March, the water levels can be high, and there is a risk of flash floods, making it difficult to access the gorge. Sawpit Gorge Halls Creek is a hidden gem that offers a beautiful and tranquil setting for swimming and relaxing amidst the natural surroundings. The
