Description

Guildford is a historical town situated on an island surrounded by the Swan and Helena rivers.

It is an ideal location for exploring on foot with numerous interesting historic buildings, lively characters and wonderful stories. To assist visitors with touring the town while learning about its rich heritage, three heritage walk trails have been built, each with 35 interpretive panels. The starting and ending point of each trail is the Old Guildford Courthouse, which also serves as the Visitor Centre.

The Guildford Heritage Walk Trails take you on a journey through the town's fascinating past. You can explore numerous historic buildings, meet colourful characters and discover interesting stories. The three trails are the Meadow Walk Trail, the Village Walk Trail and the River Walk Trail. The Meadow Walk Trail takes you on a scenic walk through Guildford's open spaces and parks. The Village Walk Trail takes you on a tour of the town centre, showcasing its historic buildings and businesses. The River Walk Trail takes you along the Swan and Helena Rivers, where you can learn about the river's importance in the town's history. You can view 35 interpretive panels along each trail to learn about the significance of the various sites.

The Guildford Heritage Walk Trails are accessible all year round. It is recommended to visit between Monday and Friday, when the Visitor Centre is open, as you can access more information about the trails and Guildford's history. There are no entry fees, and the trails are perfect for any occasion, whether it's a family day out or an individual exploration of the town.
