Description

Burrewarra Point Lookout in Guerilla Bay is a scenic coastal headland that offers panoramic views of Guerilla Bay and Batemans Bay.

It is a popular spot for land-based whale watching during the spring migration. The lookout provides an excellent vantage point for observing the annual whale migrations from September to November. Visitors can also explore the remains of a concrete bunker that served as a radar station during World War 2. The site has a viewing platform that offers a breathtaking view of the coastline. Visitors can extend their visit by following tracks through the Banksia forests towards the headland, which is marked by a large maritime beacon. The headland is an ideal spot for spotting whales, but caution is advised near the unfenced cliff edges. The best time to visit is between September and November when the annual whale migration takes place. The waters surrounding Burrewarra Point are protected by the Batemans Marine Park and designated as Burrewarra Sanctuary Zone, allowing visitors to observe marine species in their natural habitat while enjoying stunning scenic views. The lookout is easily accessible by car, with parking available near the beginning of the walking track. From the car park, it is only a ten-minute easy walk to the viewing platform.
