Description

Queens Gardens is a 3.3-hectare public park located in the eastern end of the Perth central business district.

It was once a clay pit and brickworks, and is bounded by Hay Street, Plain Street, Nelson Crescent, and Hale Street. The park has a rich history, initially being part of the commonage used for recreational purposes and later transformed into a clay pit and brickworks. It was officially opened and named Queens Gardens in October 1899. The park has been used for garden parties, weddings, and wedding portraiture. It features a replica of the Peter Pan statue from Kensington Gardens in London, as well as a bench that was believed to be the original from the film Notting Hill. Queens Gardens offers a historic and picturesque escape from the city, with its ponds, trees, and open green space.
