Description

Skywalk Lookout in Dorrigo National Park is a breathtaking scenic lookout that offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.

Located adjacent to the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, the 70m boardwalk hovers over the edge of the escarpment, providing a bird's-eye view of the Bellinger Valley, deep valleys, and gorges, all covered in a lush rainforest.

Birdwatching enthusiasts will find Skywalk Lookout to be an excellent spot to observe a variety of fascinating birds, including regent bowerbirds, topknot pigeons, and grey goshawks. The tranquil forest areas surrounding the lookout offer the perfect setting to see these native birds in their natural habitat.

The panoramic view of the Rosewood rainforest basin is a highlight at Skywalk Lookout. For those who want a closer look, the Rosewood Creek walking track provides a gentle shaded walk with abundant flora and fauna. This walk is suitable for visitors of all fitness levels.

The dominant feature of the view at Skywalk Lookout is the double-peaked mountain silhouette of McGraths Hump, also known as 'old man sleeping'. This silhouette takes the shape of a face and holds historical significance in Gumbaynggirr stories, adding depth to the viewing experience. During these months, the weather is ideal for outdoor activities, and the birdlife is most active. Getting to Skywalk Lookout is easy via the Waterfall Way. Simply turn off the Pacific Highway from either the north or south, follow the Waterfall Way to Dorr
