Description

The Boolimba Bluff walk in Carnarvon National Park is a challenging trek that leads to the top of a 200m-high bluff.

The climb involves ladders and steps, but the breathtaking views of the ranges and gorge below make it worthwhile. People with heart or respiratory problems are advised not to attempt this walk.

The walk begins at the Main gorge track in the Carnarvon Gorge visitor area and is 6.4km return. Along the way, there are signs at the lookout that provide information about the geology of the gorge and Boolimba Bluff. The best time to visit the lookout is during sunrise when the cliffs are bathed in pastel-pink hues.

The Boolimba Bluff walk is open 24 hours a day, but it is recommended to visit during dawn. The walk takes about 3 hours, so it's important to plan accordingly.

To get to the Boolimba Bluff walk, you need to go to the Carnarvon Gorge section of Carnarvon National Park, which is located in central Queensland's Sandstone Wilderness.
