Description

Bronte Beach Baths is a picturesque, recreational beach located in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia.

Bronte Beach is situated two kilometers south of Bondi Beach and north of the much larger Coogee Beach. Its popularity makes for a lively atmosphere, especially during the summer months.

Bronte Beach has undergone significant changes since its formation. Before 1914, Bronte Beach was a much more extensive stretch of sand than it is currently. The promenade and sea wall constructed in 1914 reduced the size of the sandy area of the beach. In 1961, six children were washed into the pipes during heavy wave conditions in the bogey hole. Bronte lifesavers and Waverley Council Life Guards safely rescued all six children by crawling up into the pipes following the two branches.

Bronte Beach has a dangerous rip tide, known as the Bronte Express, which surges strongly through the waves. Established in 1903, the Bronte Surf Lifesaving Club is the oldest such organization in the world.

Bronte Beach is an absolute hidden gem, as it is home to one of the best-known ocean pools in Sydney. The 30-meter-long pool is located at the southern end of the beach, and it is perfect for swimming, particularly during high tide. The clear blue water is perfect for less able swimmers who can enjoy the rock pool or bogey hole towards the southern end of the beach. Visitors who prefer to relax and soak up the ambiance of the area will find many popular cafes directly opposite Br
