Point Walter

Located on the southern shore of Melville Water, Point Walter is a beautiful point on the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia.

It is named "Dyoondalup" in Noongar, an Aboriginal language, and holds significance in Aboriginal heritage. Point Walter has a rich history, from its naming by James Stirling in 1827 to its transformation into an army and migrant settlement camp during World War II. Today, it is a popular destination for recreational activities, with a thriving bushland habitat and a sandbar that stretches over the river. Visitors can enjoy a range of activities, including kitesurfing, fishing, picnicking, and attending the annual Point Walter concert.
